The Eddy Curry Line was originally established to put a spotlight on how truly anemic Curry’s overall fantasy line is. It can be used to help establish which players are among the best and worst, in terms of efficiency of production, for fantasy basketball. The standard: a player’s Curry Line ratio is his combined assists, steals, and blocks totals divided by his total turnovers – in order to qualify for the leaderboard, a player must have appeared in at least half of his team’s games and averaged at least 25 minutes of playing time.

Hey Buse,
Do you have any insider info on a return from Michael Pietrus. Is he worth dropping Matt Barnes for.
If you remember my situation I already tried to let Barnes loose, but it did not happen.
looks like pietrus is about a week away. don’t expect great things off the bat, but i’d probably drop barnes for him
http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/sports_magic/2009/01/mickael-pietrus-back-at-practice-could-play-sunday.html
Thanks Matt. Missed again on the waiver though.
Thanks for the info on the Hawes/Miller situation.
I’m involved in a 3-team race for the top 2 seeds. 1st – 3rd place is seperated by 2.5 games, so Hawes probably isn’t worth it for me to speculate over.
I could drop Turiaf, but I don’t want to lose all the blocks.
chris anderson on the nuggets is a beast with blocks too. i assume you know this though
I do.. I had him earlier in the season, but I dropped him for Tyrus Thomas a couple weeks ago.
Turiaf has more assists, blocks, and a better FT% than Anderson.
Hey BUSER!!! Nice to see you have a great site up and running with all this great information!!! I picked Jason Thomson up a week ago and am liking his somewhat decent stats, he is the worst according to the Curry line, but that seems harsh considering he is doing well, I suppose his early games can be attributed to that! Keep up the good work! Peace
hey buser,
i hastily dropped battier for sessions. based on his 12-reb game followed by his 4-5 3pt game, i was wondering if you think dropping hinrich, chalmers, rudy f. or ariza would’ve been a better decision (he’s about to clear waivers). sessions is lighting it up right now so i’m guessing his spot is basically solidified in that lineup.
3 points against the knicks tonight
dude is killing me even when he’s not on my roster, haha. any suggestions for a sf pickup. do you anticipate a bump in value for mbah a moute? the only 3-eligible players i own are deng and j. smith. maybe trade for rip hamilton on the cheap?
redd’s injury probably assures that mbah a moute has made his last start of the season, if anything (barring injury)
hamilton is fine if all you are looking for a few offensive numbers. beasley is a good target – he’ll start once marion is moved out
MBuser hopefully this is appropriate, as it’s only intended to drum up more readers for you. Also, to MBuser subsribers, I’d guess most of you play !Yahoo leagues. Support Buser by keeping (people you aren’t playing) this subject on the HESSPEN main fantasy page.

Hopefully it brings in more readers for you. You’re responses are very appreciated, and I’d like to chip in to return the favor. Others should hit this thread and boost it up for the Buse man!
Hi Buser,
Thanks for the updates, keep ‘em coming. Its a real source of excellent fantasy information. I need your help (again). I picked up Sessions, Pavlovic and Conley recently. Dropped Mike miller, Chalmers and T. Chandler (injured). Do you think it was a good idea? If not, what are the remedies? My team is stuck at 7th to 9th place the past 4-5 weeks now and I cant seem to move up. Please look at my team and see what my team needs. Its a 14 team league standard 9 category, h2h.
1. Bosh
2. Iverson
3. Roy
4. Turkoglu
5. Felton
6. Gooden
7. J.Moon
8. Marvin Williams
9. B. Lopez
10. Sessions
11.Conley
12. Pavlovic
13. Loul Deng
I think I need rebounds & blocks But what do you think?, since Gooden is out still, when is he coming back? Thanks for your time, appreciate your thoughts.
yeah i’d be looking to drop pavlovic for a big and maybe look to trade marvin williams – he’s not doing much to help your squad overall
I’m no expert like Mr. Buser, but if you can’t seem to improve your record, you’ll probably need to make a trade. Unless Ramon Sessions turns into the second coming of Jason Kidd with Redd out (I’m hoping he will because I picked him up too), guys like Conley and Pavlovic can only take you so far unless you’re just losing by close margin and need to boost certain categories. Good luck.
best advice i can give anyone in a h2h league is to go to BBM and use the team analysis tool (make sure you have the correct league settings in place). you get a specific breakdown of who is helping (or hurting) you where. for instance, lopez’s blocks may be better suited as a trade target than a base to build around – if he’s your only guy getting them, maybe you need to think about punting them and building around other stats. in h2h, it’s better to have strengths and weaknesses than to be mediocre across the board

Hi Buser,
Thanks for the advice I’ll try to look into the basketball monster index. Pavlovic has been giving me much needed 3 pts while Conley has been sub par across all categories in his last 2 games. Do i drop Pavlovic over Conley?
Some of the bigs on the waiver are : Darko (is he coming back?), Turiaf (for blocks), Maxiel (will he get minutes?), Boozer & kaman (which are due after the asb), Darrel Arthur? Mbah Moute?
I think I can’t afford to keep injured players because I have to win now, with only 8 weeks left i’m still 2.5 games behind 6th place.
Its difficult to trade in our league because all the trades get vetoed bec some of the teams don’t want other teams to improve.
My initial strategy was to be a balanced team so as not to get blown out every time, but now that the team’s composition has chnaged I think I need a different strategy. Punting blocks rebs may be a good one in lieu of assts, 3pts, ft. What do you suggest my strategy going in the last 8 weeks? Appreciate your readers advises as well. Thanks.
Some one also dropped Blatche (injured knee), and Ben wallace are they good pick ups? DO you think my team would improve with any of them.. Thanks
Hey Matt,
I’m defending champ but languishing in last place in a 18 team H2H league. This is really getting hilarious. I lost Calderon, T.Chandler to injuries and M.Miller to unproductivity thanks to some moron named McHale. Stats are the usual plus MIN.
Team: Calderon, Alston, D.Cook, Hedo, M.Miller, C.Bell (just picked him up), Collison, Bonner, D.Howard, T.Chandler, DeAndre Jordan.
I had a 2 week winning streak when Calderon was injured so I want to deal him. Also, I might want to part with Hedo and Howard as well, but I don’t want to build around guys like Alston. A possible trade is Calderon+Howard+Hedo+Bonner for KevinMartin+Jamison+NateRob+Biedrins. Do you think it’s a good idea?
Also, do you have any info on Mike Miller getting traded (finally) and T.Chandler coming back?
Who should I target with an Alston+Cook package?
Thanks!
Mike Miller only took 2 shots yesterday. 2 SHOTS! Unforgivable, McHale!
in h2h, you have to look at trades in how it changes your team dynamic, not just ‘these players’ for ‘these players’. it’s okay to have a weak category or two as long as you building off your definite strengths. in that 4-for-4 you give up tons of assists and FG% for steals, scoring, and FT%. in terms of absolute value, it’s a pretty fair swap, but you need to look at it from a team perspective
my advice: go to BBM [http://basketballmonster.com/default.aspx], enter your custom league settings, and then use the ‘team analysis’ tool. take a good look at your categorical strengths and weaknesses and then start playing around with adding/removing potential trade targets (also use the ‘trade analysis’ tool).
mike miller is looking iffy to be traded – not much new and it’s tough to guage the market for him right now. and chandler is looking like sometime around the ASB
Since off-topic posts seems to be welcome, I’m looking for input from anyone on whether it might be safe to finally pick up conley? He’s shown mild flashes before but I’m skeptical even with the recent upturn after the coaching change. The thing is, I have Pavlovic which is a good short-term thing but I suspect he’ll be useless after Delonte returns and I’m not sure I should hold onto him even now because I’ve regularly gotten burned by not jumping on potentially excellent grabs like Conley could be…
I need assists desperately, and see him potentially getting it together (duhon and a. miller are the only people averaging more than 3 on my entire team
)
naturally, i just looked at my league immediately after posting that and someone has picked up conley. such is the way of truly competitive fantasy b-ball leagues >_<
I have a question about the Clippers. How do you think everything is going to play out once everyone gets healthy or do you not think everyone will be healthy at the same time. What kind of stats can we be expecting from the starting 6? B.Davis, E.Gordon, Al Thornton, Z.Randolph, C.Kaman, and M.Camby
gordon would lose some shots to the vets and kaman and none of the three bigs would see much more than 30 minutes. of course, everyone being healthy seems harder to picture than how they would all coexist at this point
I feel like an idiot for buying into all the hype about Conley from the fantasy experts… I can’t believe I thought he’d magically be better because of a new coach.
He sucks. Period.
that whole team got taken to the woodshed tonight. it’s not going to click automatically with these guys – it will be interesting to see how they all handle being challenged to play better defense
Is Pietrus really as good as the game tonight makes him seem? 22 points, 10 rbs, 4 assists, a steal and a block. Is he really this good when healthy or just a lucky game against the pacers?
27pts*
he was happy to be back and feeling it in a blowout. he’s still only as good as we know him to be

buser,
Simple question: What are the chances I check Mike Dunleavy’s average rankings for this season and see a number below 100 in April?
very very probable
What is the over/under on him then? Because right now I feel like a complete fool for giving him starts over Chris Andersen.
dunleavys a very good player, give him another or so and he’ll be top 75. that is if his knees hold up…good luck. and get rid of c. anderson, hes worthless! theres several other guys that will produce much more for you, unless you’re in some weird league. lol.
16 team roto. And blocks are severely underrated. Something Andersen excels at.
Anyone see all the near triple doubles or triple doubles last night. WOW!
Lebron James 23 PTS 15 BDS 11 AST 3 BLKS
Tim Duncan 24 PTS 9 BDS 8 AST 2 STLS 3 BLKS
Boris Diaw 23 PTS 9 BDS 9 AST 2 STLS 2 3PTS
Raymon Felton 21 PTS 11 BDS 9 AST 1 BLK 1 3PTS
Kevin Martin 35 PTS 7 BDS 7 AST 4 STLS 1 BLK 4 3PTS
Mo Williams 43 PTS 8 BDS 11 AST 1 STL 4 3PTS
Fool me once.. Shame on you. Fool me twice.. Well you can’t fool me again.
Bye Conley.
I drafted him. Expecting to improve on his decent rookie numbers. But that obviously didn’t happen. I added him again based on all this unwarranted hype all around the fantasy community. Declaring him a “must-add” because he stands to “benefit the most” from the new coach.
He simply isn’t anything special. I don’t have time to wait on him to adjust, because Lowry will most likely do a better job of adjusting…
So I dropped Conley for Bonner, since Conley only has a whooping 10 more assists than Bonner over the last month. I’ll take the guy who shoots over 50% and is one of the leading 3 pt shooters.
I also dropped Gallinari for Anderson a couple days ago.
7 pts, 5 boards, 5 blocks.
i drafted him too…held on to him for about a month, waiting for him to play like he can. maybe its the system?
In an H2H points league does anyone think JaVale McGee is worth dropping Derek Fisher for?
I’m worried Fish will be losing a lot of minutes to Farmar, but also that I can’t trust McGee to get playing time even with Blatche out up to a month.
I’m doing pretty poorly in the league (my excuse is that I took over the team after the draft) so I should take risks, but is this one worth taking? Fish was doing really well for me with Farmar out, but his production has been erratic since.
It really depends on how desperate you are for rebounds/blocks. If the uptick in rebounds/blocks will make you more competitive in those categories but can sacrifice some assists/steals then do it. I don’t think Fish’s stats will take much of a hit.
Regarding Pietrus and Conley: They are who we thought they are…
I can never hold back a smile when I hear that quote…thanks!
However, I must say I have more faith in Pietrus than Conley. He’ll get back to the numbers he was putting up back in November but that is pretty much is ceiling at this point unless of course someone gets injured.
i love the curry line. i hate players that don’t work hard, that’s what these guys are!
