Here’s what might be considered something of a novel concept: straight rankings lists, whether overall or by position, offer diminishing returns to many h2h managers once a draft gets past the initial rounds. Here’s an example: If team_a nets Dirk Nowitzki and Jose Calderon in the first two rounds, then where should Emeka Okafor (and his anemic FT%) be slotted in terms of position ranks? If team_b comes away from the first two rounds with Dwight Howard and Gerald Wallace, then where does Okafor “rank”?
It should be immediately obvious that Okafor’s positive impact on those two teams would be substantially different. If team_a decides to punt blocks, then a large part of Okafor’s contributions are null and void. Maybe team_a is looking for a balanced approach – Okafor’s negative impact on FT% throws his line well out of balance and necessitates special treatment. Okafor delivers a third-round impact when you ignore his FT%, however, meaning that team_b needed to highlight him as a target as soon as the Howard pick was made.
You might argue that Okafor is an extreme example, given his career 60-percent shooting from the line. I won’t disagree, and Okafor is certainly an outlier in terms of negative impact in a single category. But what h2h managers need to recognize is that it’s not just those outliers that should impact team-building and player targeting strategies. H2h is all about maximizing your strengths while limiting your weakness to very specific areas, and the draft should dictate your strategy, not a rankings list.
General Strategies
Of course when I talk about “weaknesses” in h2h, it’s a reference to the “punting” of categories. It’s a completely viable strategy in h2h, and some would argue that it’s silly not to punt at least one category. Ignoring any one category alters the dynamic of player values tremendously and produces a new ranking algorithm – one that is unique to you… and whoever else happens to be employing the same punt strategy. That’s another thing to consider: there are nine statistical categories and twelve managers in most leagues, meaning there may be some crossing of the streams, strategically speaking. With that in mind, identify your targets and their potential draft slot early on. While you should absolutely stay cognizant of average draft position numbers and overall impact, don’t be afraid to reach a bit for the best player as defined by your specific team concept.
Do you have to punt a category? Of course not. If you execute a good draft strategy while taking the balanced approach, then you will place well in the standings. You’ll be handed a categorical win or two almost automatically when you match up with someone that is punting, and the simple fact remains that you at least give yourself a better chance of at least competing anywhere you don’t punt, whether it’s one or nine categories. Another simple fact: when it comes to winning a category within a matchup – take steals, instance – it’s no more of less of a win if the difference is one or 20. In the balanced approach, you draft the best available players early, maximize value throughout, and limit weaknesses overall. That’s not so different than how you approach a roto draft.
Another thing to consider is the whims of the NBA schedule, during the h2h playoffs in particular. While it shouldn’t completely alter your view of players, it’s worth noting that the Rockets have 12 games scheduled for Yahoo!’s default h2h playoff weeks (21, 22, 23), while the Blazers have eight. Here’s a complete rundown:
12 games: HOU, SAS, WAS
11 games: ATL, BOS, CHA, CHI, DEN, GSW, IND, LAL, MIL, NJN, NOR, OKC, TOR, UTH
10 games: CLE, DAL, DET, LAC, MIA, MIN, NYK, PHI, PHO, SAC
9 games: MEM, ORL
8 games: POR
There aren’t many things more frustrating than steamrolling your way through a h2h regular season only to lose your first-round playoff matchup because some extra games for the opposition meant a win of the “quantity over quality” variety. Two things to keep in mind: planning for the playoffs does you no good if you don’t actually make them, so this isn’t paramount in the season’s early going; and a well-executed transaction or two (add/drop, trade) can help address potential problems on the horizon fairly quickly.
Round 1
Let’s take a look at Round 1 of the draft. A straight list certainly applies here, and it comes down to which players can/will deliver the biggest fantasy impact. We’ll pick the player and then run through the immediate thought process once you pull the trigger.
1. Chris Paul
CP3… sweet. I’m getting elite-level steal and assists and rock-solid contributions in scoring and both percentages. The boards are good for a guard, too, and the turnovers are fine because of the rest of the line. Not a lot of threes for a point guard, but not terrible – obviously blocks is the one spot where you don’t get much.
2. LeBron James
King James, baby! My foundation is elite scoring, excellent assists and steals, and good threes, boards, blocks, and field goal percentage. I can live with the turnovers based on everything else. His knock is free-throw percentage – it spiked in 08-09, but still wasn’t great, and I’m not expecting another leap.
3. Dwyane Wade
D-Wade is exactly who I figured I’d be taking here. Hello, massive scoring and steals totals and excellent assists, blocks, and field goal percentage. The threes are improving, too, so I’m expecting an uptick there, and the boards are good for a guard. His free-throw shooting has actually regressed in recent years and is not a strong suit, and of course he’s going to finish among the league’s turnover leaders.
4. Kevin Durant
Velvet Hoop sets me up big-time in scoring and free-throw percentage, with good steals and threes, some boards, a pretty good shooting percentage, and even close to a block per game. Not a lot of weaknesses here, but the assists could use some help, as they’ll roughly break even with his turnovers.
5. Dwight Howard
I’m going all in with D12, meaning I’m punting free throw percentage and building around massive contributions in blocks, boards, and field goal percentage. The scoring is solid, too, and he should average one steal per game. Foul shooting is his category killer, but he also accumulates more turnovers than your average big man and there are no assists to speak of.
6. Danny Granger
If not for issues with his knee – obviously a legitimate concern – you could make an argument that he go as early as the No.4 spot, so no qualms here. I’m looking at tons of threes, hefty contributions in scoring and free throw percentage, and good steals-plus-blocks. He’s a decent enough rebounder for a GF-type, but what isn’t spectacular is his shooting percentage and assists-to-turnovers.
7. Kobe Bryant
Kind of boring, but in a good way, as in we know he’s going to be huge again. Lots of scoring and plenty of help for free throw percentage, steals, assists, and threes. Decent rebounding and block numbers relative to his positional peers, as well. The field goal percentage is pretty average and he takes a ton of shots, so that’s technically not an asset. The turnovers are fine relative to everything, particularly if his efficiency approves again this season.
8. Amar’e Stoudemire
The eye injury has me concerned, but not concerned enough to pass on Amar’e here. Fun-and-gun is back, so we’re talking a massive positive impact on shooting percentage, tons of scoring, and good board and block numbers. He’s no slouch from the line, either, and should come in around one steal per game. In terms of negatives, there are no threes or assists to be had here and his turnovers are high for a big thanks to his usage level.
9. Dirk Nowitzki
I don’t care if he’s 31, because the dude is money. As a fantasy foundation, we’re talking elite-level efficiency. He’ll give me big-time scoring and free-throw percentage contributions, a very solid shooting percentage, and relatively low turnovers. He also is solid on the glass. The threes and blocks are just okay at slightly below one per game, and the steals could use some help. Oh yeah, and I’m not expecting the assists to creep back over three per game with Kidd around.
10. Chris Bosh
Bosh does tend to get nicked up but is in a contract mindset and always seems to deliver over the course of the season. Nothing is extraordinary here, but he sets a good base in five categories: lots of points and boards to lead the way, with very good numbers for both percentages and somewhere around a block per game. The turnovers are fine, all things considered, but there are not many assists or steals and no threes.
11. Brandon Roy
Roy is really good and keeps getting better. He’s going to deliver very good scoring totals, solid assist numbers, be good for both percentages, deliver solid boards for a guard, and the turnovers are low. Steals and treys are average-ish, but the threes could be going up a bit with Andre Miller around. He also blocks the occasional shot, but not enough to count on as an asset.
12. Deron Williams
A number of reasonable options here but I’ll go with Deron because his positive impact in a single category (assists) is matched by only a few players in a few other areas. He’s also improving at age 25 and isn’t exactly one-and-done in terms of fantasy impact. His scoring and percentages are also very good, the threes and steals are at least average around one each, and he even blocks the occasional shot. He doesn’t board and the turnovers are high, however, so he’s not without fault.
Still to come in Part II: a look at rising and falling player values in certain punt situations, as well as category specialists and other targets throughout the draft

sweet, looking forward to the next one. thanks matt.
Hey Matt, would you trade Devin Harris and Joe Johnson for Kevin Durant and Mario Chalmers? Thanks
Oh I forgot to mention its a 12 team H2H league. Here’s the rest of my team:
Chris Paul
Joe Johnson
Devin Harris
David Lee
Emeka Okafor
Derrick Rose
Blake Griffin
Andrew Bogut
Trevor Ariza
Tracy McGrady
Allen Iverson
Brendan Haywood
Kelenna Azubuike
im not matt but i would.
thanks, i appreciate it. anyone’s opinion helps.
yes and run away with it.
i would not do that deal. while you’re getting the best player in the deal, you’re also giving away a lot of assists and scoring, , and not gaining much outside of a few blk’s. plus you have a very questionable bench with mcgrad, iverson, haywood, bogut, and ariza
i’m not sure its eceptionally far off, but chalmers isn’t enough. anyone you could switch him out for in a counter-offer? also, you have dueling percentages on your team as it stands:
good FG%: paul, lee, okafor, rose, griffin, bogut
bad FG%: johnson, harris, ariza, iverson, mcgrady (if he plays)
good FT%: paul, johnson, harris
bad FT%: okafor, griffin, ariza
I would do it. With Paul and Durant your team will be tough to beat in H2H. You’ve got plenty of PGs right now, you’ll do fine in assts/stls with Paul, Rose, and Chalmers.
what?? Haillll no. Why in lord’s name would you do that? The only thing Durant does better than johnson is block score and rebound, and it’s not a huge margin either. And then you add devin harris to that equation, and you have yourself a detrimental trade for yourself. Devin Harris is looking to break out even more now that he is the true main focus of his team. Don’t be surprised if Harris scores 25 ppg this season. Harris is on the brink of becoming elite status. Think Gilbert Arenas presurgery with less 3s. Mario Chalmers isn’t even a 10th rounder in my book, and he even has competition on his own team now that Arroyo is on that team.
Don’t do that trade.
Really excellent primer, Matt. My main league of friends switches between H2H and Roto each year and this year it’s H2H. Last year was the first year I think I had an actual strategy going into the draft and I feel pretty confident going into this year. I’m hoping I get a top 5 pick obviously, but I keep coming back to picks 10-13. With my history picking players that get injured, I think at this point I’d take Roy with the 10th pick. That brings me to Bosh vs Al Jefferson. Is the main reason people rank Bosh better because of Jefferson’s injury last year? As everyone seems to say, Bosh is always a little nicked up…I know Bosh’s FT% is better, but if you take away FT%, Al Jefferson was ranked 6th last year right behind DH12(according to BasketballMonster.) And you wouldn’t even have to punt with Al Jeff…Thoughts?
Glad someone else has Dwight Howard #5 in H2H. I’ve had tons of people telling me I “reached” on Dwight @ 5, but his dominance in so many categories is just too good to pass up. From this spot in a 12-team draft you can really surround him with great talent.
2nd Round – Andre Iguodala or Gerald Wallace
3rd Round – Jason Kidd or Josh Smith
4th Round – Rajon Rondo
5th Round – Nene or Andris Biedrins
6th Round – Al Horford or Emeka Okafor
…
10th Round – Shaquille O’Neal
Those are just some of the key talents to surround Dwight with.
You’re not crazy for taking D12 at #5 in a H2H draft.
Over at BFFA, we have him going at #6. Originally, I had him going at 10 – but since then, I’ve been sold on taking him earlier, especially if you can’t get one of those first 4 picks.
But just in case I happened to be one of those “tons of people” who said you reached for Howard at 5, I’ll gladly eat my fair share of crow.
Nice list, foolosophy. I have determined that I’m gonna end up with Dwight, Amare, AlJeff or Deron, to go with my keepers: Durant(costs me my 2nd round), DHarris(10th), and ARandolph (13th). I had highlighted all the players you listed, along with a few others for my “Dwight” plan. However, if I ended up Deron, along my 3 keepers–any recommendations for a punting strategy and the correlating players to target? Thanks!
Btw, H2H 9-Category. Thanks for any input.
Hey Matt,
I’m entering year 2 of my H2H 12team Keeper League and ended up w/ a very ROTO-ie Core. What kind of strategy would you recommend for me?
These are my players (w/ round values next to them).
(1) Chris Paul
(2) Amare Stoudamire
(3) Jose Calderon
(4) Kevin Martin
(8) Brook Lopez
My first pick comes in round 5. I feel like I should punt something but I don’t know which category. My team is so darn balanced.
Take the best player available, since those keepers are very balanced. After your next couple of picks you’ll have a better idea of what your strengths are and then weight those categories the heaviest. I’d avoid any major negative FT shooters and high turnover guys, since your keepers are avg to good in those unique categories.
Absolutely nothing wrong with having a balanced team, and you have a very solid core to start with. If I had a gun to my head I would say to punt rebounds, but in reality I would keep going for balance…you can always trade to enhance your strengths later on if the opportunity arises.
can’t disagree here. paul sets the stage so well that going balanced with him isn’t a bad idea at all, and your bigs are both high FT% and block shots, exactly what you need. kev martins FG% is about all that is working against you right now, but it’s largely covered elsewhere
Thanks everyone for your input! That was really helpful. Like really!
I also considered punting threes. I even have a guy willing to trade me devin harris for kmart… but I’ve found that punting threes is usually not smart cause those are so easy to find later.. Should I make that trade?
Westbrook or Ellis? h2h standard 9.
my players:
G – Kidd, Ginobili, Westbrook, Salmons, Conley, Barbosa, jennings, AParker, BRush
F – Durant, Marion, Ariza, Galinari
PF/C – AlJeff, DLee,
C – Oden, Birdman
Will i suffer too much a hit in assists w/o westbrook vs. the boost in FG% & less turnovers?
i’d go ahead and make the exchange, you’ve got pretty decent coverage of AST. jennings being the wildcard
Yahoo H2H 12 team 9 categories 2nd pick
I know the team is pretty weak in terms of three pointers so I was pondering the move to drop Frye or Hinrich to get Azubuike or Morrow on waivers. Please state other categories I need help in and also suggest players to trade away to make the team more competitive. Thanks!
PG Chris Paul
SG Jason Richardson
G Jose Calderon
SF Gerald Wallace
F John Salmons
PF Carlos Boozer
C Spencer Hawes
C Channing Frye
Util Ronnie Brewer
Util Tyrus Thomas
BN Udonis Haslem
BN Kirk Hinrich
BN Marvin Wiliams
i’d hold steady. you’ll get 3PT from both frye and hinrich, so that isn’t a reason to drop them. you will likely struggle at FG% and BLK and you really have concentrated where you get every last AST from
I would drop 2 out of Haslem, Hinrich, or Williams and pick up BOTH Buike and Morrow. If given decent minutes (which is a possibility for both) these guys will provide very good stats. If he gets 30 min a game, Morrow could be top 5 in 3PM. It’s also very possible that Jackson and even Monta are traded at some point early in the season. Don’t play it boring and safe with your bench picks – play to win.
Thanks guys for the reply!
drop haslem for azubuike. done.
Nice list above, foolosophy. I have determined that I’m gonna end up with Dwight, Amare, AlJeff or Deron with my 10th pick, to go with my 3 keepers: Durant(costs me my 2nd round pick), DHarris(10th), and ARandolph (13th). I had highlighted all the players you listed, along with a few others for my “Dwight” plan. However, if I ended up Deron, along my 3 keepers–any recommendations for a punting strategy and the correlating players to target? H2H, 9 category. Thanks for any input!
(I reposted here at the bottom so ppl would see)
Your TOs are pretty horrific from your keepers, so you should ignore that category entirely. If you think Deron’s FG% is going to climb a bit (and Randolph’s shot selection improve), balanced might be the way to go unless you grab a player that tilts you a lot. If not, you might want to ignore FG% also. Some key players to target:
Stephen Jackson: absolute beast in a FG%/TO punt, but the situation is muy toxic so LTBB.
Kevin Martin: Scoring and 3s galore, massive FT% boost, and decent steals. Injury prone though.
Rashard Lewis: FG% is his only real weakness aside from the suspension.
Baron Davis: FT% poor, but lots of 3s/steals and crazy blocks for a PG
Troy Murphy: Boards/3s, very nice assists/FT% for a C-eligible
Vince Carter: Nice across the board
Manu Ginobili: Health risk only liability
Jason Terry: Scoring, 3s, steals, FT%, not much in the others
Ron Artest: FT% liability, but decent all-around otherwise
Al Harrington: Scoring/3s/steals
Jameer Nelson: Money if he’s healthy
Rasheed Wallace: Monster bump from excluding FG%, even in limited minutes
Lots of other guys that stand out, BBM is your friend
Thanks Goob.
I play in a H2H league with 7 categories (No FT% OR TO). How much more value would you say Blake Griffin has in this format? Should I consider shopping him to an owner who likes him for his name?
you should always shop a player like that, with no real established value, to see if someone will give you more value than you feel he has yourself. but you don’t trade him to trade him – no FT% or TO is a nice bump for him
Here’s a H2H Mock I just did building around DH12. Obviously I’m punting FT%, but I think I ended up pretty weak in 3s too and regret not taking JR Smith in R7 over Millsap, especially since I’m so short on SGs. That forced me to take Sessions over a PG that could hit some 3s. What do you guys think?
1. Dwight Howard (Orl – C)
2. Gerald Wallace (Cha – SF,PF)
3. Jason Kidd (Dal – PG)
4. David Lee (NY – PF,C)
5. Jameer Nelson (Orl – PG)
6. Emeka Okafor (NO – PF,C)
7. Paul Millsap (Uta – SF,PF)
8. Boris Diaw (Cha – SF,PF)
9. Ramon Sessions (Min – PG,SG)
10. Greg Oden (Por – C)
11. Courtney Lee (NJ – SG,SF)
12. Yi Jianlian (NJ – PF)
13. Rodney Stuckey (Det – PG,SG)
I agree with you that three’s are your overall weakness but i could see you losing assists often as well. Winning assists will come down to sessions being the ball handler and if stuckey decides to stop shooting.
Hey buser so I am in a keeper league I kept Danny Granger Devin Harris and Caron Butler from last year wanted to see what you or others thought of my team
1. Granger
2. Butler
3. Harris
4. Lamarcus Aldridge
5. Al Horford
6. Rasheed Wallace
7. Andre Miller
8.Boris Diaw
9. Ramon Sessions
10. Courtney Lee
11.Jermaine O’Neal
12. Kirk Hinrich
I tried to go for a more balanced team that also was flexible in playing positions but I am kind of up on the air on what defiencies or strengths I really have to build on or to work on thxs
Since when did “H2H Guide Part I” mean “Rate my team/trade”? There’s a message board people, let’s try to keep it organized so these posts are more topic-related?
You should definitely let the draft dictate your strategy in a H2H league. It’s less about individual performances than it is how a player fits on your team. I got Lebron, Jamison, Iguodala, D.Lee, and Rose early in one league, so obviously I wasn’t too concerned about taking Okafor with my next pick. I don’t stand a chance in FT% now, but I didn’t really before either, and I needed blocks, so it was a perfect fit and should be good value for my team.
Don’t get me started on D12 and Deron again though, that’s what archives are for..
How do you guys keep getting Jason Kidd in the 3rd round when Dwight Howard was picked 5th in a 12-team or even a 10-team league!? Jason Kidd is the 3rd best point guard in fantasy basketball right behind CP3 and Deron Williams. Is it because I’m playing in a no turnover league why you guys are playing in leagues where Jason Kidd is undervalued?
Nope, that’s not right either. After doing my calculations, Jason Kidd goes ahead of Deron Williams in leagues with TOs are taken into account. Personally, I think Jason Kidd is better than Deron Williams due to 3s and steals. You guys can’t possibly think Jason Kidd’s numbers will be going down with a motivated Marion.
Only you would have Kidd over Deron.
FG Deron (41.6 @ 7.6 v 47.1 @ 14.5)
FT Deron (81.9 @ 1.3 v 84.9 @ 5.7)
PTS Deron (9 PPG v 19.4 PPG)
REB Kidd (6.2 v 2.9)
AST Deron (8.7 v 10.7)
ST Kidd (2 v 1.1)
3PM Kidd (1.6 v 1)
4-3 my friend. Deron has many FGA, so it impacts more. Deron also has more FTA. Deron scores 20PPG, Kidd is insane in rebounding for a guard, Deron has double-digit dishes (alliteration at its finest), Kidd has about double the steals (could go down due to age and mileage, though), and the only time Kidd takes shots is from the arc. A mid-20′s upstart or a late-30′s vet when it comes to age? Enough said…
I think I might be in the minority here but I have been playing since 02 and I came up with a strategy to win 6-3(ft%, 3ptm, pts, stl, assist, and a/to%) every week and its been working. We play PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C, 3 UTL.
My 6 keepers were Danny Granger, Caron Butler, Jose Calderon, Andre Igudola, Monta Ellis and Andrea Bargnani
I had pick 4 of 12 and in the 7th rd (76) took Al Harrington. So it gives me 2 PF/C players that will shoot respectable from the FT line, 18ppg and around 2 3PTM each from my bigs.
Followed by
Jason Terry (93)
TJ Ford (100)
Nate Robinson (117)
Aaron Brooks (124)
Jamal Crawford (141)
Randy Foye (148)
Jose Barea (165)
Raja Bell (172)
Everyone kept passing on “chuckers” because of FG% where as they are great for my team (FT%, 3PTM, Pts, Assist, Stls, A/T%). In addition kept going for potential players and passing on the proven players being a keeper league.
IMO this is one of the strongest teams I have ever had, being that I have a chance to ideally field a team of a min of 7 players a night with over 3Assist per night with 1+ 3 and 1+ stl and over 15ppg.
With the exception of possibly pts where do you see a problem with my philosophy?
No problem with that at all.
You might run into a problem when a guy has at least 2 elite PGs where assist and A/To might not be a given
Hi Guys,
i would really appreciate our input on the team i drafted 2 days ago, playing in a h2h, 12 team league, standard cats, i drafted 12th…cant remember the order of players i drafted…but here they are
1) Al Jefferson
Andrew Bogut
2) Deron Williams
3) Andris Biedrins
4) Russel Westbrook
5) Jeff Green
6) Michael Beasley
7) Kevin Martin
9) Josh Howard
10) Randy Foye
11) Jonny Flynn
12) Courtney Lee
13) Julian Wright
Hey guys,
it would be great if you could give me your input on my team. Maybe where my weaknesses are? Or where i could become better? Or where my strengths are? I drafted yesterday in a H2H 12 team league…I drafted 11th and i would just love your input. Thanks.
My team:
Mo Williams
Ray Allen
JR Smith
Jeff Green
Chris Bosh
Kevin Garnett
Carlos Boozer
Andrew Bynum
Tayshaun Prince
Derek Fischer
Nick Young
Yao Ming
Fransico Garcia
Mickael Pieturs
why did you pick up yao and garcia? Yao will most likely not play this season and garcia is out for months.
i no i dropped them and picked up Kirk Hinrich and Yi Jianlian
but can u give me and insight on the rest of my team?
[...] Buser recently posted parts one and two of his great head-to-head guide at busersports.com. If you’re into roto scoring, [...]
just looking to improve my center pos, as i am (obviously) very pg heavy *(and a little old). Standard scoring roto
my team:
pg: d. williams, g arenas,B Davis, T Parker
sG:Mayo, McGrady Artest

now obviously i am also going to have to watch the games played with shaq and McGrady and others
the bosh C flex gives me a little room.
Available in the pool are: moon, foye, dampier, frye, pryzbilla
anybody worth dumping and/or picking up to strengthen the paint? Any and all help is appreciated
Jump at Frye and drop Varejao NOW!
Frye will start and have nice numbers and LeBron will slide over to PF a lot this season (as far as I heard) which makes Varejao a bench warmer in fantasy.

Crawford is a hard call. Personally I would not take him I just don’t c the minutes. I would have kept Rush and cut Crawford for DJ. It is hard to know in the preseason who will actually play, coaches like to be mysterious. However Crawford really loves to shoot when he does play but points and low fg percentage is really his upside. Ur team sure needs a pg though.
I’m in a 12 man 9cat H2H League. I was 7th pick and heresi my team. How do you think my team is? Any player you recommend that wont do well this year? Any cat I’m short in?

I’m in a 20 man 9 category H2H league. I had the 12th pick and each team has 10 guys, 7 who start. This is the first time I have done one of these leagues and just wanted to know if I should make any changes to my team or what strategy to use going forward. This is my team:
Amare Stoudemaire
Rashard Lewis
Baron Davis
Jason Terry
Mike Bibby
Greg Oden
Ronnie Brewer
Hakim Warrick
Carl Landry
Rasual Butler
I currently have Randy Foye but his stats do not fit well with my team. His low FG% and high FT% is not what I need. Also My team is in need of 3 point shooters. Would Rudy fit in well? Also available are Roger Mason, Rasual Butler, or Steve blake? Or maybe work out a trade? Team looks like this:
PG- Rajon Rondo
SG- Andre Iguodala
G- Randy Foye
SF- Lebron James
PF- Josh Smith
F- Nene Hilario
C- Andris Bidrins
C- Marc Gasol
Util- Boris Diaw

Questioning Ramon Sessions and Randy Foye picks. Willing to give up a big man as well. Looking at punting free throws.12 team H2H league. Standard 9 cat. Any suggestions would be nice
I like Morrow a lot – his upside is too much for even Don Nelson to ignore. Expect Jackson to either be traded or exaggerate an injury and miss some games once GS starts losing. As I mentioned in my post below, Morrow has a lot of potential in 3PM and scoring with very good %’s. Foye should be ok and I would hold onto him. If Arenas has any set-backs, he could be very good. Gomes should be good to start the year with Kevin Love out. Frye has a chance to get a lot of minutes and put up nice 3PM totals for a C.
Not too high on Marc Gasol and unfortunately Sessions has landed in another spot where he’s currently in a PG platoon – at best (it looks like Flynn is the starter and will get more minutes).
Hey matt I need some advice. I’m in a standard head to head league, and I need 3 point shooters, there are a couple free agents that I like but not sure who I want to drop for them my roster is
Chris paul
Montae ellis
Jose calderon (can’t believe I got him and cp)
Paul millsap
David west
David lee
Louis scola
Andre miller(don’t like the drama)
Marvin williams
Mike miller ?
Yi jialin
Channin frye
Udonis haslem
I needed 4 eligible centers because of the 2 center rotation. But I’m on the fence w mike miller, jianlin, andre miller, and marvin williams.
The free agents I want are
Ryan gomes
Anthony morrow
Possible julain wright (I’m a n.o. Fan) anyway I need to stabilize my wingman position…how would u sort this out..who would u add or drop?
Anyone who replies it is appreciated cantrelle.jobie@yahoo.com
Thanks matt!!!
Drop Haslem immediately and pick-up Morrow. If things shake-out well for him in GS, he will finish in the top 10 in 3PM.
I am currently in a 10 team H2H league. My team was done on an autodraft starting #6:
1. (6) Dwight Howard
2. (15) Brandon Roy
3. (26) Antawn Jamison
4. (35) Gilbert Arenas
5. (46) Monta Ellis
6. (55) O.J. Mayo
7. (66) Andrew Bynum
8. (75) Anthony Randolph
9. (86) Zach Randolph
10. (95) Andrew Bogut
11. (106) Marvin Williams
12. (115) Michael Beasley
13. (126) Shane Battier
14. (135) Marc Gasol
15. (146) Al Thornton
16. (155) Anthony Morrow
I am mulling whether to trade Brandon Roy, OJ Mayo and Al Thornton for Gerald Wallace, Carlos Boozer and Luol Deng. It’ll leave me a bit light on the guards spot but I’ll look to rectify that later.
What do you guys think? Am I giving up too much with Roy and loading up too much on forwards/centers?
