First, and THANKS! I’m in the middle of my roto draft right now.

  2. tupark82 says:

Matt I finally did a draft for my main league and I am excited about my team and just about all the players in it. If you can give me some feedback on what you think of this team, I’d appreciate it so I could make proper moves to better it if possible:

    Gilbert Arenas
    Danny Granger
    Jameer Nelson
    John Salmons
    Brook Lopez
    Marcus Camby
    Chris Kaman
    Samuel Dalembert
    Mike Bibby
    Nate Robinson
    Marvin Williams
    Corey Maggette
    Marc Gasol
    Anthony Morrow
    Andres Nocioni

  3. jboldt73 says:

Buser gotta question for you. Often times in football drafts we see a sizable shift in rankings from mid July to early Sept. What players do you think his stock has risen the most since the beginning of camp and who do you think has dropped the most? Obviously, we have injuries to Garcia and Love but what about performance alone?

    • Cap. says:

Some guys I think are on the rise are Noah, Robinson, Hibbert, Curry, Yi

Some guys I think are declining are Brooks, Nene, Jamison obviously, Bibby, Camby

There’s really too many to name though.

      • Cap. says:

Chalmers seems to be losing a lot of steam right now too. He could turn it around but I regret drafting him already.

        • Cap. says:

Tyreke Evans is another I might have drafted a bit earlier. He looks like the real deal.

        • jboldt73 says:

I am in a H2H league std 9 without %’s, I drafted Chalmer early but Duhon is on the WW should I pick him up for Chalmers or wait it out?

          • Cap. says:

Hm, that’s a tough one. I think we have to wait it out on Chalmers since we spent an middle-upside pick on him. The good news is that Miami is sticking with him as their PG for the forseeable future, so he’s worth a second chance I think, and I’m not too worried about Arroyo. I’m trying to trade him in a package of some sort, but no luck. If he sucks early on though, and Duhon puts up some nice lines I wouldn’t hesitate.

  4. markydarky says:

    Hi Matt,

If im gonna punt FT%, who should i pick, Okafor or Andrew Bynum? Thanks.

    • los_macheteros says:

I say Bynum. Toe injuries tend to nag and don’t magically go away without a litany of DNP’s. As strange as it may be to hear, I think Bynum is the healthy pick. He’s also looking like he’s tapped into his immense potential and is in mint condition to begin the season. Even if he doesn’t reach Okafor’s gaudy per-game numbers, he’ll likely out-produce him when all is said and done.

  5. Enigma says:

    Ty Lawson or Anthony Carter?

    • los_macheteros says:

As much potential as Lawson may have, you have to think the Nuggets are going to look to Carter to drop a half dozen dimes every now and then in relief. They’re a winning club and can afford to sit on Lawson for a year while Carter delivers the goods and is a proven part of a winning formula. This is just speculation of course, but also keep in mind that the Nuggets resigned A.C. to a one-year deal this off-season.

    • Rounders Block says:

Lawson should definitely supplant Carter as the backup behind Chauncey in the near future with his performance last night.

  6. houston1rockets says:

Do you prefer Brandon Jennings or Allen Iverson? Channing Frye or Ronnie Turiaf? How can I improve my team?

    Here’s my team:
    Chris Paul
    Kevin Durant (Traded for him)
    Derrick Rose
    David Lee
    Emeka Okafor
    Blake Griffin
    Andrew Bogut
    Trevor Ariza
    Mario Chalmers
    Brendan Haywood
    Anthony Morrow
    Channing Frye
    Brandon Jennings

    Some notable FAs:
    Tracy McGrady
    Allen Iverson
    James Harden
    Corey Brewer
    Rasual Butler
    Kelenna Azubuike
    Udonis Haslem
    Hakim Warrick
    Carl Landry
    Drew Gooden
    Chris Douglas-Roberts
    Andres Nocioni
    Ronnie Turiaf

    • los_macheteros says:

Jennings faces inconsistency in both his game and play time. Iverson as a sixth man should be semi-productive but is injured for the time being. I would ride Iverson until he earns some trade value or until Jennings gets it going. Seeing as you already have Jennings’m I’d advise you to wait until his situation unfolds since Iverson won’t be ready to start the season and should stay available for at least the next couple weeks.

Frye vs. Turiaf: Totally different skill-sets but one is a role player with a high-foul rate and the other is a starter in a high powered offense. I normally go with the starter by default, if only to trade him eventually.

  7. los_macheteros says:

    Andrei Kirilenko or Lamar Odom?

  8. alexvitlin says:

Nellie’s hinting Monta starts at the 2 this year – what does that do to his numbers? Scoring spike, dimes drop-off?

  9. Doc Oc says:

I’m in a 12-team standard H2H league… any thoughts about the potential of Ryan Anderson to make meaningful contributions? He’s been beasting in the preseason but where does he fit into the depth chart?

    • Rounders Block says:

Starting PF during Shard suspension and could potentially remain starter when Shard gets back depending on performance during that opening 10-game stretch. Like him to fill out bench in deeper leagues.

  10. noelg says:

Hey guys, I need some advice. I am in two leagues (both roto):

    17 team league:

I could pick up Ryan Anderson off the wire, but who should I drop? Here’s my team:
    Chris Paul
    Kevin Martin
    Tony Parker
    Thaddeus Young
    LaMarcus Aldridge
    Luis Scola
    Andrew Bogut
    Drew Gooden
    Ramon Sessions
    Carlos Delfino
    Anthony Morrow
    Chris Douglas-Roberts
    Chris Wilcox

I am also in a 10 team league. I think I need some help at center but don’t know if I should drop Chandler in favour of Haywood or Hibbert.

    Who would you drop?

    Gilbert Arenas
    Eric Gordon
    Joe Johnson
    Shawn Marion
    Al Jefferson
    Al Horford
    Andrew Bynum
    Brad Miller
    Danny Granger
    Rajon Rondo
    Leandro Barbosa
    Tyreke Evans
    Chris Anderson
    Tyson Chandler

Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks

    • pressure-d says:

I’m unsure in the first scenario for Anderson. But Delfino maybe? I’m also iffy about Wilcox, but I might not want to drop another “big”.

As far as the ten league team goes, it’s tough for me to say. It all depends on Chandler’s health and how well he fits in with his new team, compared to whether Haywood is all good after missing most of last year, and whether Hibbert lives up to early hype in the regular season.

  11. Fantasy Facebook says:

Somebody just dropped Mario Chalmers (probably due to his horrid pre-season). Do I pick him up and drop Sessions? It looks like Flynn has the starting job locked down.

I know you can’t put to much thought into pre-season stuff, but it doesn’t look like the wolves are going to start Sessions.

    • pressure-d says:

Word is that Sessions is still gonna get run at SG though. Personally, I’d rather have Sessions until it’s evident he’s not going to be useful this season.

  12. markydarky says:

    Hi,

I am on a 10-team standard 9-cat H2H league. here are my players:
    1. (5) Kevin Durant
    2. (16) Deron Williams
    3. (25) Gilbert Arenas
    4. (36) Brook Lopez
    5. (45) Troy Murphy
    6. (56) Andris Biedrins
    7. (65) Baron Davis
    8. (76) Andrea Bargnani
    9. (85) John Salmons
    10. (96) Leandro Barbosa
    11. (105) Boris Diaw
    12. (116) Thaddeus Young
    13. (125) Brendan Haywood

I’m thiking of dropping some of my players to get more assist. here are the notable free agents available: Mike Conley, Chris Duhon, Mario Chalmers, Nate Robinson and Ramon Sessions.

Should I drop any player for any of those free agents? or should i trade some of my big man for a guard? thanks in advance.

    • Problem Gasolved says:

I would drop haywood for nate. Haywood doesnt even get drafted in some 12 team leagues. Nate will give you some more assists and lots of threes which i think you are also weak on.

    • grapplerke says:

Mario Chalmers is still available? Snag him up now, even over Nate. The guy averages 6+ assists and 2 steals a game with a ton of 3s. He’s not to be taken lightly.

  13. bizz05 says:

    PG- Rajon Rondo
    SG- Andre Iguodala
    G- Randy Foye
    SF- Lebron James
    PF- Josh Smith
    F- Nene Hilario
    C- Andris Bidrins
    C- Marc Gasol
    Util- Boris Diaw
    Util- Ramon Sessions

    Anthony Morrow
    Channing Frye
    Ryan Gomes

Questioning Ramon Sessions and Randy Foye picks. Willing to give up a big man as well. Looking at punting free throws.12 team H2H league. Standard 9 cat. Any suggestions would be nice :)

  14. pskpinkyli says:

YOOOO BUSEY BABY!!! TALK TO ME ABT JR SMITH.

One of the guys I always seem to like cause of his ridiculous skill set. Why doesnt George Karl see it the same way? Is he going to come off the bench again?!?

  15. Ashley says:

Who do you like the most between Moon, Azubuike, Anthony Parker, and Rasual Butler?

  16. Brio says:

Brandon Jennings, Kirk Hinrich, or DJ Augustin? Also have Brandon Rush, T-Will, and James Harden on WW.

      • So-Tex Spurs says:

I like Hinrich – but until I see how his PT shakes out, I have to agree with Ash – Augustin.

        • mookieblaylock says:

Augustin’s prospects are way down now that Raja Bell has opted against wrist surgery that would’ve kept him out 3-4 months. I would definitely pick-up Brandon Rush out of that group. He has the starting SG spot secured and should be a great source of 3′s with good pts, stl, & blk, and decent %’s. I even like Jennings over Augistin for the time being. Skiles can be brutal with his rotations but Ridnour offers nothing at this point and jennings is clearly the future there.

          • Ashley says:

Oh, misread. Thought he said he had Brandon Rush already.

But I’d definitely take Brandon Rush out of those 6.

          • So-Tex Spurs says:

“Augustin’s prospects are way down now that Raja Bell has opted against wrist surgery that would’ve kept him out 3-4 months.”

Yeah, I totally missed on this one – catching up on my reading and all. With Bell playing, Augustin takes a hit.

But I would still watch that situation – something tells me Bell will either be ineffective because of the injury, or he’ll change his mind at some point and opt to do the surgery.

            Just a gut feeling… ;)

  17. Guoballs says:

    I have a question…

what does everything think about a

I give up Russel Westbrook and Andrea Barngini

    for

    David West and Rashard Lewis

its a standard head to head league basically

    • mookieblaylock says:

I would do that trade for sure if you have another solid C to cover for Bargnani. Lewis will only miss the 1st 3-4 weeks for your squad, which doesn’t hurt as much in H2H as it does in roto. I am not as high as everyone else on Westbrook though. I don’t think he will be a top 80 player this year because of his brutal FG% and high TO rate, plus he will not help in 3PM – too many negatives for me and I’m not sure why everyone else is sold on this guy.

West and Lewis have been top 25 players for the last 2 seasons and I see that trend continuing. Make the trade.

    • grapplerke says:

That’s a very good trade for you. If you manage to pull this off, your team will be much better off.

  18. Guoballs says:

Thank you, my front court is actually pretty solid.

I have dwight howard, lamarcus aldridge, shawn marion, gerald wallace, and carlos boozer, my back court is now really thing though…

deron williams, joe johnson, leandro barbosa, and jason richardson

so ill have to make another trade ish… its an 8 team league so as you can tell my team is stacked bc there are lack of players lol

    • grapplerke says:

To be honest, I think your team is rather weak for a 8-team league. You’re weak in steals and blocks. You aren’t strong at all in assists either. Dwight Howard will kill your FT% and you have no other bad FT big man to compliment Dwight Howard’s strong point.

Wow, you’re not even strong in 3s either…

      • los_macheteros says:

I’m in an 8-team H2H league as well (money league for what that’s worth) and have Dwight Howard (7th overall) also.

        (9-cat + 3P%/OREB and DREB split/FGM; G/G/F/F/C/U/U/B x5)
G: Rajon Rondo, Monta Ellis, Jameer Nelson, Mo Williams, Jason Terry
F: Chris Bosh, Gerald Wallace, Josh Smith, Andrei Kirilenko
C: Dwight Howard, Andrew Bynum, Luis Scola

I’ve come to the conclusion that 3′s aren’t winnable for me either, which is unfortunate. Rather than being mediocre in 3PM/AST I’m looking to make a trade to bump my assists into a winning range. What do you guys think would be a fair return for say, Mo and Jet, in the AST realm?

        • grapplerke says:

It’s better for you to not try to win 3s when you have Rondo and Ellis was your top 2 point guards. Neither of your forwards shoot 3s either. Your team looks strong; I’d keep it the way it is except get at least 1 more shooting guard. Right now, you only have 1 (Terry). That is unless your team just uses G, F, C and have no SG requirements. If that is the case, you have a KILLER team.

Yeah, you won’t be #1 in assists, but so what? You’ll dominate FG%, boards, steals, and blocks every week and you’ll be strong in assists and points too. If you can trade for a better point guard, go ahead, but you won’t need it. I would try to see if I can trade Scola for some value though, but most likely you won’t get anything worthwhile for it.

      • Guoballs says:

i was thrown off bc my friend wanted to use ESPN in stead of Yahoo and we have weird cats like double doubles…. but yea carlos boozer i want to get rid of bc i paniced when i picked him. I am looking for another point gaurd to strengthen assists. would it be bad if i moved dwight for a al jefferson? i just am nervous about his knee.

  19. grapplerke says:

Just finished a big trade in my league for Jason Kidd and Dwight Howard. I traded Gerald Wallace, Dwight Howard, T.J. Ford, and Bogut for Kidd, Bryant, Troy Murphy, and Kirilenko. Hehe, 3 owners even voted to veto this trade, but the others felt that the trade was not imbalanced to where it should be vetoed (One of the guys who voted veto got Murphy last season with just MARIO CHALMERS; talk about hypocrisy).

Here is my new team as it stands:

PGs – Kidd, Arenas, B. Davis, Nelson, Terry
    SGs – Kobe, Barbosa
    SFs – Kirilenko, A. Randolph
PFs – Troy Murphy, Andray Blatche (dropped Brewer for him)
Cs – Al Jefferson, Ronny Turiaf (not permanent)

It seems I will be weak in FG%; strong in FT%, 3s, assists, steals, and points; average in boards and blocks. Considering that there are many block specialists that we can stream in per week, I think this is the optimal way to win.

  20. Guoballs says:

The owner said he would rather give up Rajon Rando instead of rashard, so do i pull the trigger?

    andrea and westbrook

    for

rando and west? or is shard and west better

you said i am weak in threes so should i punt threes? and strengthen my assists?

    • grapplerke says:

Bargnani is looking better and better. However, because you have Dwight Howard, you should definitely take Rondo and West. Westbrook is terrible for your FG% and he won’t get as many assists as Rondo. West is the only worthwhile player that Chris Paul has. You can bet that he will get plenty of minutes and touches. I’m not a big fan of West’s game, but he will get his numbers. Pull the trigger. Rondo is better than Rashard Lewis.
