Frustration boiled over at the end of the Bulls' seventh straight loss.
One night earlier, the Bulls were the victim of a physical foul when guard Derrick Rose suffered a sprained left wrist after being knocked out of the air by Magic center Dwight Howard and hitting the court hard.
With about five minutes left in Friday's game at Miami, center Brad Miller tried to block a drive by Dwyane Wade and was called for a flagrant foul. Miller and teammate Kirk Hinrich collected three technical fouls arguing the call, with Hinrich getting thrown out. Coach Vinny Del Negro got a technical earlier in the game.
The Bulls were frustrated not only by the flagrant foul, since Miller was basically standing still, but also by the physical play on the other end. (Chicago Bulls)

Forget fighting their adversity. Better, the Bulls fought back this time. Now, they just need to turn that into a victory. A baby step, if you will. The Bulls lost their seventh consecutive game Friday, 108-95 to the Miami Heat with starters Derrick Rose, Luol Deng and Joakim Noah all out injured. But they delivered their own blows this time as they were clawing back trailing 84-77 midway through the fourth quarter. At least until they blew as coach Vinny Del Negro, Brad Miller and Kirk Hinrich drew technicals, Miller also a flagrant foul against Dwyane Wade, and Hinrich eventually... (

The lesson to be learned from Friday’s loss to Miami wasn’t about anger management.
The Bulls were probably overdue to let off a little steam, so the 4 technical fouls collected in their seventh straight loss won’t be a big deal –- as long as Kirk Hinrich isn’t suspended for mistreating an official. That probably won’t happen, but it’s possible.
What the Bulls need to do during these difficult, shorthanded times is get to know the bench. Sure, Brad Miller and Taj Gibson give the Bulls the best chance to win right now. But running those two big men into the ground won’t help the long-term cause at all.

With each injury and each loss, the Bulls' level of frustration has been building over the last two weeks. But after a 108-95 loss to the Miami Heat Friday night, the Bulls said their late-game eruption --three technical fouls and an ejection for guard Kirk Hinrich -- had more to do with perceived injustices in that game than their losing streak being extended to seven games. It all started because George Steinbrenner was tired of writing checks for a losing proposition known as the Chicago Bulls.

Chicago guard Kirk Hinrich was ejected with 4:43 left in the fourth quarter of the Bulls' game at Miami on Friday night after drawing two technical fouls. The sequence started with Heat guard Dwyane Wade driving the lane and a flagrant foul being called on the Bulls' Brad Miller. Hinrich drew one technical for complaining about that call, and moments later, drew another one. (

Teams that are down on their luck in the NBA are more likely to be kicked in the teeth than helped to their feet. The Bulls had to deal with that reality in Miami on Friday. They took the court without their three best players, played the second leg of back-to-back games against a rested Heat squad and still managed to make a game of it. (

So am I the only one angry about Derrick Rose’s sprained left wrist in still another collision with Dwight Howard? “I’m not angry at all,” Rose said before the Bulls played the Miami Heat with Rose out with his sprained--fortunately not broken or fractured--wrist. “It’s basketball. People get hurt like this in the park. I’m not worried about it.” Neither was coach Vinny Del Negro, who had to open with a starting lineup of basically not one player who was expected to be an NBA starter this season: Jannero Pargo, Kirk Hinrich (OK, perhaps), James Johnson, Taj Gibson and Brad... Add Derrick Rose to what's nearly become an epidemic of medical problems for the Chicago Bulls, all coming at the worst possible time of the season. Rose was held out of Chicago's game in Miami on Friday night with a sprained left wrist, suffered the previous night in a collision with Orlando center Dwight Howard. (

Derrick Rose is disappointed he'll miss his first game of the season tonight when the Bulls play the Miami Heat, but Rose knows his situation could have been much worse.
After suffering a left wrist injury Thursday night in Orlando courtesy of another hard foul from Magic center Dwight Howard, Rose was relieved that the results of an MRI taken this morning showed only a sprain and no fracture or ligament damage.
He is listed as day-to-day, but has no idea when he might be able to play again.
"It hurts," Rose said. "I've never had a wrist injury, but you can't dribble the ball. Last night, I had problems just sleeping on it."
When he saw Howard approaching, Rose admits he had a flash back.
"Yeah, I was surprised like everybody else," he said. "I was just thinking, 'Not again.' Right when I got hit, I had a crick in my neck and everything. It was like I was in a car accident or something."
But despite being flattened by Howard twice, Rose doesn't hold any hard feelings toward the 6-11, 265-pound center.
"It's basketball," he said. "You're gonna get hit when you go to the hole. I just have to find a way to be able to when I come out the air land right."

MIAMI -- The Bulls announced that Derrick Rose won't play tonight against the Miami Heat because of a sprained left wrist.
However, the news stemming from the MRI taken of the wrist this morning was overwhelmingly positive. The exam confirmed a sprain with no fracture or ligament damage.
Rose is listed as day-to-day and it is hoped he'll be ready to play for the Bulls' next game Tuesday at Memphis.
This is the third significant injury of the season for Rose, but tonight will be the first game he'll miss.

Derrick Rose will play again this season, but not Friday against the Miami Heat. An MRI Friday morning in Miami and x-rays Thursday night on Rose’s left wrist were negative. Which is the good news. But there’s plenty of bad news as Rose officially has a sprained wrist and will sit out at least Friday’s game. Rose declined comment after Thursday’s game when he fell after colliding with Magic center Dwight Howard. He left the arena wearing a soft cast on his wrist. The Bulls have three days off after Friday’s game in Miami. They next play Tuesday in Memphis... (

MIAMI -- The Bulls haven't released any definitive word yet on the results of the MRI on Derrick Rose's left wrist, but it appears the Bulls point guard won't play tonight against the Miami Heat.
The Bulls are hopeful the sprained left wrist he suffered Thursday night on a fall after being fouled by Orlando's Dwight Howard won't keep Rose sidelined for long.
The game was broadcast on TNT and analyst Charles Barkley had this to say at halftime in connection with Rose's fall:
"I've got to teach these guys how to fall. I tell guys your body is a lot stronger than he bones in your hands and your fingers and your wrist. Any time you're going to fall, get your hands in the air; don't try to catch yourself."
