Not many teams schedule extra workouts, with increased intensity, five months into an already wearying schedule. But the Timberwolves figured they had nothing else to lose.
So Idan Ravin, personal trainer to some of the NBA's elite, was invited to Minnesota this week to put the Western Conference's worst team through his own set of drills. Timberwolves players were invited to meet Ravin, who is known for motivating his clients, and challenge themselves.
Some took advantage. Some didn't. "It was extremely hard, and some of the players complained about the fatigue aspect," said coach Kurt Rambis. "But it's something we wanted done, and we'll see where it takes us."
Al Jefferson hopes it takes him to a better season. (Minnesota Timberwolves)
